Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Triple-A reports the average price of
gasoline in Oregon is $3.83 a gallon, down a penny in a week and a
dime higher than a month ago. Some metro prices from today’s AAA
survey — Portland $3.80, Salem $3.79, Eugene-Springfield $3.87,
and Medford-Ashland $3.88.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An 18-year-old man is due to be arraigned
today on charges stemming from Saturday night’s shooting in Forest
Grove that left a 15-year-old boy dead and a girl wounded. Capt.
Mike Herb says Cody J. Ward was taken into custody Saturday, and he
was booked into the Washington County Jail.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Jackson County officials say a $645,000
loan to Administrator Danny Jordan for his Medford home in 2009 was
legal and part of a compensation package. The Mail Tribune reports
County Commissioner John Rachor, who was elected to the office last
year, says he has had nine months to assess Jordan and would
support the loan. But he says the 2009 notice reflects a lack of
transparency in government that he would like to improve.

ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) – Demolition work has leveled historic
buildings burned on Astoria’s waterfront, and an excavation crew
thinks it can recycle most of the debris. The Daily Astorian
reports demolition of the properties has finally gone through since
fires ravage the buildings in December. There is no word yet on
what might replace the buildings, but the city hopes to reclaim a
small park
