Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
ALOHA, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a
deputy’s patrol car was struck by a bicycle last night in Aloha.
The deputy was making a turn and the bicycle rider hit the front of
the patrol car, throwing him over the hood into the windshield. The
44-year-old Aloha man was treated at a hospital for minor injuries
and arrested on a warrant from Clark County. The sheriff’s office
says alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Health Authority is working to
figure out the fine points of a massive overhaul of the Oregon
Health Plan. Health policy experts are meeting this week and next
to discuss details of Gov. John Kitzhaber’s ambitious plan to
improve health while lowering costs. Officials also are planning to
hold community meetings around the state to explain the changes to
the public, including patients on the Health Plan and the doctors
who treat them.

NEWPORT, Ore. (AP) – The arrival in Newport of Pacific Ocean
research vessels of the federal marine fisheries agency has raised
talk about what developments might follow, perhaps turning the
coastal town into a research hub. A NOAA official tells the Eugene
Register-Guard that the things to look for are people and companies
who service the research vessels, repairing instruments and
equipment.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Two Alaska Airlines attendants have
been treated and released from an Anchorage hospital after feeling
ill during a flight out of Portland Sunday. The Anchorage Daily
News says the two attendants working in the rear cabin felt
nauseous and were short of breath on the evening flight from
Portland to Anchorage. They felt better by the time the plane
landed. Medics checked passengers in the rear of the plane, but no
one else had the same symptoms.
