Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An armed man who surrendered to Portland
police early today had been reported for bizarre behavior in the
past week. Police responded last night after he reportedly leaned
out a downtown apartment window and pointed a rifle at a woman.
Officers closed off the area while negotiators talked with him by
phone. He came out several hours later. Police say he’ll get mental
health treatment.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a Forest Grove teenager loaded
a shotgun that went off behind his friend’s head, killing him.
Initially 18-year-old Cody Ward told police that he thought the
shotgun was unloaded when he pointed at his friend on Sept. 17.
Ward told them the shotgun just went off. A day later he changed
his story and said he had loaded it. Ward is facing second-degree
manslaughter charges in the death of 15-year-old Trenton “T.J.”
Lester.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon terrorism trial of Mohamed
Mohamud has been pushed back to next May as attorneys for the
defense and prosecution continue to exchange discovery evidence.
Mohamud is accused of trying to detonate what he thought was a bomb
at a Nov. 26 Christmas tree-lighting ceremony. The men he thought
were his coconspirators were actually FBI agents, and there was
never an explosive device.

PORTLAND, Ore (AP) – A cyclist who volunteered with the annual
Cycle Oregon bike tour has been missing for nearly two weeks and
his family thinks he may be disoriented because of a relapse of
cancer. Mark Bosworth vanished from a campsite in Southern Oregon
on the night of Sept. 16. A hitchhiker wearing clothes similar to
Bosworth’s was seen near the campsite the night he disappeared, and
his relatives think it was him. Friends and relatives have created
blogs as well as Facebook and Twitter accounts to distribute his
photo across the country.
