Prep Sports Roundup for the Weekend

Prep Football:

John Johnson had seven carries for 123 yards and one touchdown as the Siuslaw Vikings held off the Sutherlin Bulldogs 34 – 14 Friday night in Douglas County.

In other Far West League action, North Bend demolished South Umpqua 62-13 and Douglas got by Brookings-Harbor 42-29.

The Reedsport Braves travelled to Siletz for nonleague action where they edged the Indians 44-42 in overtime.  The game was tied at 36-all at the end of regulation and Reedsport scored first, converting the P-A-T.  Siletz responded but was unable to convert.

Cross Country:

Siuslaw's Matthew Campbell heading for the finish line in the Woahink Invitational, followed by Mitchell Butler. Butler fell three times on the wet and slippery course.

 

Matthew Campbell edged Mitchell Butler to claim the individual title at the Woahink Cross Country Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The top ranked Viking boys took five of the first nine slots to easily claim the team title.  The girls, paced by Katy Potter, were third.
