The Siuslaw Vikings took sole possession of first place in the Far West League last night on the volleyball court with a three game victory over the Bulldogs in North Bend, 25-15; 25-16; 25-23. Lona Dengler had 22 assists in the effort, plus added six kills and three blocks. Katy Catalfamo had eight kills, Brionna DeSantis had seven.
The Mapleton Sailors lost their first game last night to Lowell, 25-7, but then swept the next three for a Mountain West League victory at home over the Red Devils. Liz Harry had six kills and six blocks to help bring the Sailors to 4-4 in league play, 5-4 overall.
