Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police have arrested about a half-dozen
Occupy Portland demonstrators who refused to lift their blockade on
Main Street. An Associated Press photographer at the scene says
officers moved in about 6:00 this morning to clear the street. Some
other demonstrators had agreed last night to move out of the road
between Lownsdale and Chapman Square parks that have been occupied
since last week.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Republican presidential contender Mitt
Romney visits Portland tomorrow for a private fundraiser. The
Oregonian reports tickets range from $500 for a breakfast and
$2,500 for a photo. Romney also held a private fundraiser last July
in Portland. Today he’s in Seattle for a fundraiser and a speech to
Microsoft employees about trade policy.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – No damage has been reported after a
magnitude 5.3 earthquake 140 miles off the southern Oregon coast
last night. The National Earthquake Information Center says the
shallow quake was felt by residents from Coos Bay and North Bend on
the Oregon coast as far north as Portland, as well as in northern
California.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – It took fire crews more than four
hours to rescue a prison inmate who hurt his back while working
with an inmate crew in Oregon’s Tillamook State Forest. Forest
Grove fire officials say the unidentified inmate was working to
repair hiking trails when a log broke free above the crew and began
to roll toward them. The inmate reportedly jumped out of the way,
fell and landed on a stump. Nemeyer says the man was unable to
move. He was taken by ambulance to a Portland hospital.
