Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A Springfield man convicted of raping a
woman while she was passed out has been sentenced to 15 years in
prison. Lane County Circuit Judge Debra Vogt told Lamar Alex Davis
he was extremely dangerous to women, noting the victim was unable
to defend herself. The attack happened in August at a Eugene
apartment where the woman was sleeping after celebrating her 24th
birthday with a night of drinking.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Tigard-Tualatin School District is
trying to account for $33,000 that may be missing from the Tigard
High School cheerleading team. Cheerleaders tell KATU they were
given credit for only about half the money they collected in the
past two years to pay dues and expenses. The man who coached the
squad during that time resigned two weeks ago. He says he turned
over every fundraiser check and they were all made out to the
district.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Gov. John Kitzhaber is asking the Oregon
Lottery to postpone a new Internet game site called The ORcade
because he’s worried the cartoon graphics and online games may
appeal to minors. The Oregonian reports Kitzhaber has called a
meeting Tuesday with lottery officials to talk about the site’s
rollout. The ORcade was supposed to go live this month or next.

DALLAS, Ore. (AP) — Polk County District Attorney Stan
Butterfield says he hasn’t decided whether to go forward with a new
trial for Philip Scott Cannon, after missing evidence from his
murder trial reappeared. Cannon was convicted of three murders, but
was set free when the four boxes of evidence went missing, making a
new trial impossible. The boxes were found at the Oregon Department
of Justice.
