CRESWELL, Ore. (AP) – Four Creswell High School soccer players
who yanked down the shorts on two younger players have been
disciplined for hazing. Principal Gary Mounce tells The Register
Guard that nothing criminal happened and he did not ask the Lane
County sheriff’s office to investigate. The incident happened
Saturday on a bus ride after a game.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – There’s something in common with all 18
burglary reports Corvallis police took in the first 18 days of
October – the burglars walked through unlocked doors. Police tell
the Gazette-Times most of the burglaries happened at night.
Burglars walked out with valuables – mostly jewelry and electronics
– worth nearly $25,000. Police urge residents to lock their doors.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A man who pleaded guilty to bank robbery
in Portland is looking forward to his prison sentence. Mario
Santini is homeless and knew he could find food and shelter by
breaking the law. The Oregonian reports he was sentenced yesterday
in federal court to two years in prison. With credit for time
served has about another year behind bars. Santini said he was
contemplating suicide before robbed the bank last December for
$565. He immediately confessed three weeks later when a detective
told him he looked like the suspect.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland Mayor Sam Adams is reminding
Occupy Portland demonstrators no medical marijuana is allowed in
the two downtown parks where they are camping. KGW reports the
mayor read about marijuana use at Occupy Portland and reminded
protesters yesterday that a licensed pot user is not allowed to use
the drug in a public park, even inside a tent.
