SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Some Oregon state employees are angry their
home email addresses were given to a state legislator. They were
concerned when they received the email last week from Rep. Dennis
Richardson of Central Point asking for their opinion on how state
government could save money. Richardson says he’ll delete names
from his email list from anyone who wants off.
DALLAS, Ore. (AP) – A 34-year-old sex offender has been
sentenced to 62 years in prison in Polk County Circuit Court. Greg
Evensizer of West Salem pleaded guilty to six felony charges
involving the abuse of three girls all under the age of 12 and was
sentenced yesterday. Prosecutors tell the Statesman Journal he’ll
do every single day of the sentence under Ballot Measure 11, which
sets minimum mandatory sentences for serious crimes.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A juvenile court judge has decided that an
11-year-old boy who flashed a gun on a MAX train in Portland last
week will wear an electronic monitoring device and live with his
aunt. KATU reports the boy is the brother of Yashanee Vaughn, a
14-year-old who was killed last year. His mother told the judge
she’s dealing with grief and that the aunt could provide more
structure for her son.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A University of Oregon student says she was
sexually assaulted after leaving a weekend party in Eugene. She
told police she was followed by a man and attacked outside a house
then forced into a car and assaulted again in the back seat early
Saturday. The Register-Guard reports she was able to escape.
