Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police say they have arrested at
least 10 of an estimated 175 protesters who marched last night in
what was billed as a demonstration to support Occupy Oakland.
Police say some demonstrators broke a glass door at a restaurant,
threw garbage and vandalized several cars. Several protesters said
they were upset about the damage caused by a small faction in the
crowd.

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say the reward fund in the killing
of a young man last year on an Ashland bike path is expected to hit
$15,000. Chief Terry Holderness tells the Ashland Daily Tidings he
hopes the reward shakes loose some information. He says
investigators have a diminishing number of leads to run down, and
there’s still no suspect in the death of 23-year-old grocery clerk
David Grubbs, who was nearly decapitated.

CATHLAMET, Wash. (AP) – A woman found dead in a Cathlamet,
Wash., hot tub was a former Portland radio personality. The Cowlitz
County coroner says 33-year-old Jaime Cooley died of accidental
drowning. Authorities tell The Daily News of Longview, Wash., that
Cooley was found alone and unresponsive Saturday morning in a hot
tub at her father’s home. The newspaper said Cooley had worked at
radio station KNRK.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – A few years ago, John Rachor painted
his helicopter orange and yellow, so it would be easier to spot if
he ever became the target of a search in rugged southwestern
Oregon. In the past six years, he has been the one doing the
spotting. On Saturday, Rachor found three lost mushroom pickers. In
2006 he found a woman and her two daughters in the same region. In
between he has found several others. He attributes his success to
good eyesight, an ability to spot things out of the ordinary, a
willingness to think outside the box, and the efforts of the scores
of other people involved in a search.
