ONTARIO, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police are investigating
whether a prison inmate who died a day after being found
unresponsive in his cell was the victim of an assault by another
inmate at the state prison in Ontario. Officials say 28-year-old
Michael Hagen died Friday in an Idaho hospital. He was found
unconscious Feb. 2 in his cell. The Oregonian reports that Hagen
shared his cell but prison officials won’t identify the other
inmate or provide any other details.
CANBY, Ore. (AP) — Fire officials say a man has been killed by
an Amtrak train in Canby. They say the unidentified man was walking
on the tracks last evening when the southbound train hit him.
KATU-TV says no one on the train was hurt.
ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – Douglas County sheriff’s officers say a
Roseburg man is accused of stabbing his roommate in the throat with
a screwdriver. Deputies say Jeffery Iverson told them he had

conditioner on at the same time last Saturday. Iverson says that’s
when he was stabbed. Everett Bryan was arrested for investigation
of third-degree assault and other charges.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland police spokesman says a man has
been confirmed dead in a stabbing at a southeast Portland apartment
