Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from
The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers are pursuing
free agent Joel Przybilla (priz-BILL’-a), but a deal with the
7-foot-1 center would be contingent on a physical exam. The Blazers
would also have to cut a player to make room on the roster for
Przybilla, who spent more than six seasons in Portland before he
was traded to Charlotte last season. Yahoo! Sports and SI.com both
reported that Przybilla has agreed to a veteran’s minimum deal with
the Blazers.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State cornerback Malcolm Marable
has been suspended indefinitely by the Beavers after he was cited
for driving 104 mph on Interstate 5. State police say Marable was
traveling northbound near Albany, Ore., when he was pulled over and
cited early Sunday. The sophomore was also cited for failure to
produce proof of insurance and registration for the Nissan Altima
he was driving. The fine for driving over 100 mph in Oregon is
$1,148.
