Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Several law enforcement agencies are
searching for a missing Portland man whose van was found last
evening at a central Oregon snow park. Samuel Coleman’s family
reported him missing Monday evening. Relatives say the 61-year-old
man is an avid skier who might have gone cross-country skiing and
for some reason failed to return home. Officers narrowed their
search after Coleman’s van was found at Ten Mile Snow Park east of
La Pine.

NORTH BEND, Ore. (AP) – The Coos County sheriff’s office says a
20-foot log rolling down a hill struck a 74-year-old man and killed
him near North Bend. The World newspaper reports that Kenneth
Earley was killed yesterday afternoon. Deputies say Earley was
clearing brush with members of a local church when the log rolled
down a nearby hill.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A Eugene company has sued Columbia
Sportswear, accusing the larger company of stealing Innovative
Sports’ technology and using it to make a successful line of heated
clothing. The Register-Guard reports the smaller company wants
Columbia to stop making the clothing in question and wants to be
paid for the losses it says it has suffered. Columbia says it
believes the suit is without merit.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Documents show that Oregon and the federal
government have apparently reached an agreement on changes to the
state’s community mental health system that could resolve a federal
investigation. The Salem Statesman Journal reports that Justice
Department lawyers said that the agreement paves the way for
changes that will “improve the lives of thousands of Oregonians.”
