Far West Baseball

The Siuslaw Vikings carry their own fate as they enter a pair of Far West baseball games this afternoon against the Brookings-Harbor Bruins.  They’re currently two games behind South Umpqua in 2nd Place and the North Bend Bulldogs are one game behind them in third.  This afternoon’s games at Siuslaw High School will be played on the JV diamond because of field conditions… both will air on Coast Radio Sports with the pregame show set for 2:45.

On the softball diamond, the Lady Vikings have a similar burden but they’re going to have to wait until Monday to face the Bruins in Brookings.  A double-header set for today was rained out.  Siuslaw was tied with Sutherlin in 2nd place earlier this week, but the Bulldogs swept a double-header yesterday, handing the Douglas Trojans their first losses of the season.  The Vikings are in the position of having to take two games over the Bruins Monday to keep pace and a share of second place.
