ALOHA, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a deputy shot and killed a man who was armed with a rifle. Deputies were answering a disturbance call yesterday afternoon at a home in Aloha when they armed man was shot as he walked out. The 52-year-old man who lived at the home died at the scene.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a man used a boy to help rob a specialty food shop in Portland. The man and boy, who appeared to be about 10 years old, entered The Meadow store Saturday evening. The man grabbed the clerk and told her he would hurt her if she yelled. Police say the boy went behind the counter and took money out of the cash register.
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police say a man arrested in the death of a Medford man is on parole for attempted murder. Travis Asbill was arrested yesterday in Eagle Point after police and deputies surrounded his home. He was jailed on a murder charge in the death of Donald Mack, who was found with severe head injuries yesterday and died later at a hospital.
TUALATIN, Ore. (AP) – There were no injuries in a fire early today at an assisted living home in Tualatin, but 23 residents of a memory care unit were displaced. Tualatin fire officials say the fire in a laundry room dryer caused a lot of smoke at the Farmington Square Senior Care Community. Residents who were evacuated could not return to their rooms. The facility had space to relocate them to other rooms.
