PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 45-year-old Tualatin man accused of fatally stabbing the woman he lived with has been arraigned on one count of murder. The Oregonian reports that Lujar Philippo appeared briefly in Washington County Circuit Court yesterday. The Oregon state medical examiner’s office says 31-year-old Kiorinta Edmond was found dead Saturday of chest stab wounds.
BEND, Ore. (AP) – Jefferson County sheriff’s officers say the body of a missing Bend woman has been found about 200 feet down central Oregon’s Crooked River canyon in what appears to have been an accidental fall. Capt. Marc Heckathorn tells KTVZ that the body of 38-year-old Valerie McKie was found yesterday after a multi-agency search. She was reported missing on Sunday.
NEHALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon parks officials say federal wildlife agents have shot and killed a coyote they believe to be the same animal that bit a 5-year-old Ocean City girl at an Oregon coastal park. The girl is undergoing a series of rabies shots. Oregon State University will examine the dead coyote for any evidence of disease. The girl’s mother says the child was bitten on Thursday.
GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Police say a former Gresham resident has been arrested on sex abuse charges involving a 15-year-old girl he met while he was a volunteer at a Salvation Army camp she attended. Police said yesterday that they were releasing information about the arrest of 23-year-old Gene Edward Olsen II in hopes of finding out whether there may’ve been more victims.
