ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – A convicted sex offender has pleaded not guilty to a grand jury indictment that accuses him of the attempted aggravated murder of a 10-year-old boy. Brown spent 11 years in prison for abusing children in the 1990s.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Police say they have arrested a 16-year-old former North Eugene High school student accused of hacking into the Eugene School District’s computer system last month. The Register-Guard reports that records for the district’s roughly 16,000 students were accessed. A police spokeswoman says the teen is accused of one count of computer crime.
