Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

WOODLAND, Wash. (AP) – Amtrak says the lead engine of Amtrak’s Cascades train traveling from Portland to Seattle has derailed in southwest Washington but no one was injured. The BNSF railway says the derailment last evening blocked both main lines in a rail corridor used by more than 50 freight and passenger trains daily. Bus transportation was arranged for the 86 passengers. BNSF says crews hope to have the route reopened sometime today.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police detectives say they are investigating a double stabbing that left a young woman dead and a man injured as a homicide. An autopsy determined that 23-year-old Jessie Fisher died of multiple stab wounds. Police say Eric Rodriguez is recovering from his stab wounds at a hospital after the stabbing Tuesday night. Police say Rodriguez will be arrested for investigation of murder-domestic violence.

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) – Firefighters officials say three construction workers in the south Portland suburb of Milwaukie were taken to hospitals after showing symptoms of possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Clackamas Fire District 1 officials say they were reportedly using a gas-powered circular saw in a walled-off pit yesterday afternoon when co-workers reported they were acting oddly. A supervisor had the workers leave the pit and called 911.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Republicans in the Oregon House have a new leader in a rare mid-term shakeup. Rep. Kevin Cameron of Salem says he stepped down from the job yesterday, citing family and business obligations. Republicans chose Rep. Andy Olson of Albany to replace him.
