PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Benton County district attorney says officers were justified in their use of force against a suspect who exchanged gunfire with them on Aug. 11. Sgt. ALFALFA, Ore. (AP) – Reckless burning charges have been filed against five men whose target practice is believed to have ignited a 35-acre wildfire in Central Oregon. Deschutes (duh-SHOOTS’) County sheriff’s officials say the substance the men used in target shooting, Tannerite, is “expected to cause some kind of flash” when struck by bullets traveling at certain speeds.

THE DALLES, Ore. (AP) – Yamhill County authorities have arrested a man who has allegedly provided methamphetamine to mid-level drug dealers in McMinnville and Sheridan. Sheriff Jack Crabtree says 54-year-old Mark Lynn of McMinnville was taken into custody Monday afternoon after a traffic stop on Interstate 84 east of The Dalles. Lynn was booked into jail on drug charges.
