Police who searched the car during an Aug. 14 traffic stop found the drug in a suitcase. Prosecutors say a search of one man’s home turned up more meth and a gun. An Oct. 23 trial date is set for Bladimir Nunez-Maciel and Marlon Rovello Paz.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Eugene has officially closed its city hall. The Register Guard reports the city decided more than a decade ago that the building was too small, energy inefficient and earthquake vulnerable. City Hall will be mothballed until the council decides what to do. Meantime, City Council meetings will be held in the downtown Public Library during September and October, before moving to Harris Hall in Lane County’s headquarters building.
