EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A Eugene man indicted on aggravated murder charges in the Sept. 7 death of his father and his father’s domestic partner has pleaded not guilty. The Register-Guard reports that lawyers for 36-year-old Johan Gillette entered the pleas yesterday in Lane County. Gillette is accused of killing his father James Gillette and the elder Gillette’s domestic partner, Anne Dhu McLucas, a former University of Oregon music school dean.
MORO, Ore. (AP) – A 65-year-old Oregon man who spent two decades in prison for killing his wife in 1990 has been arraigned on multiple sex crime counts involving a minor child. The Sherman County District Attorney tells The Oregonian that Donald Richardson of Rufus was arrested Sept. 11 and faces other accusations in the case, including furnishing alcohol to a minor.
KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police say a woman has drowned in Summit Lake in Klamath County. Police said the woman was swimming at the lake yesterday afternoon with two other women. Attempts to revive her were unsuccessful. Her name was not immediately released pending notification of relatives.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A former armored car driver has pleaded guilty in Portland to his role in heists that that netted his family almost $4 million. The Oregonian reports that 64-year-old Archie Cabello was set for trial yesterday when he decided to plead guilty to eight of 51 criminal charges. He was accused of staging two robberies in Wisconsin in the 1990s and one in Portland in 2005.
