Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

On the volleyball court last night… the Siuslaw Vikings downed visiting Douglas, but it took all five games.  Lona Dengler had 18 kills; Adrianna Roberts returned to the court and had ten kills; Ashlee Cole had 11.  Hanna Bartlett had 28 assists.

In Reedsport, the Braves gave up only 32 points, downing Gold Beach in three games.

In Mapleton, the Sailors took the Crow Cougars in four close fought games.  Kaitlyn Logan had 12 kills; Dani Simington had seven kills and two blocks for the Sailors.

Football Polls

The Siuslaw Vikings remain at number two for the fourth straight week in the AP 4A football poll.  Gladstone is at the top for the second straight week, but Siuslaw picked up three of the eight first place votes cast in the survey.  Cascade is at number three, followed by Baker, Klamath Union and Philomath.  LaSalle is at seven, North Marion is eighth, followed by Cottage Grove and North Valley tied at number nine. North Bend, and Douglas also picked up votes, but failed to break into the top ten.  Siuslaw is three-and-oh; they open Far West League play Friday in Myrtle Creek against the South Umpqua Lancers.
