TUALATIN, Ore. (AP) – A man was fatally injured when he ran into the side of a car driven by his wife in the parking lot of a Tualatin apartment complex. Witnesses told police the man was trying to stop his wife from driving away last evening when he ran into the side of her car. Arriving officers attempted to save the man’s life, but he died at the scene.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A bicycle rider died in a collision with a car last night in Portland, at 148th and Southeast Mill. Police say the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The AAA auto club reports the average price of a gallon of gasoline in Oregon is $3.99. That’s up 2 cents in a week and down 3 cents from a month ago. It’s 21 cents higher than the national average. Some metro prices from the AAA’s survey — Portland $3.96, Salem $3.97, Eugene-Springfield $4, and Medford-Ashland $4.03.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon school districts showed mixed results on tests showing whether the nearly 60,000 students who speak English as a second language are making adequate progress. Districts must hit three targets to receive a passing grade on the report. Only 19 of the state’s 197 districts accomplished the feat while 102 failed. The remaining 76 districts either have no English language learners or too few to be rated.
