PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Clackamas County commissioners are holding an emergency meeting today to discuss the ballot tampering investigation. Clackamas County has about 10 percent of the Oregon’s voters, almost evenly split between Republicans and Democrats, making it pivotal in deciding close statewide races.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The Salem City Council is holding a public meeting this evening at City Hall to hear a task force recommendation for the design of a proposed third bridge over the Willamette River in the city. The bridge would ease traffic congestion and improve access to Interstate 5 for resident and businesses west of the river. Opponents question the need for the bridge and the cost and funding.

GALLUP, N.M. (AP) — A cat lost for five months during a family move from Oregon to Louisiana has been found in New Mexico. KRQE-TV reports that the cat, Meeko, was found by Helen Morales outside her yard in Gallup. Kenneth Harris says the family lost Meeko after making an emergency stop on the side of I-40 at the Arizona-New Mexico line. Morales says she located the cat’s owner by calling the number on the cat’s tags.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Temperatures hit record highs yesterday in parts of Oregon. But the mild weather is on its way out — forecasters say a cool air mass will move over the Northwest Wednesday, and the snow level in the Cascades will drop to 2,500 feet by Thursday.
