Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 7-year-old Gladstone girl with leukemia is not the only child in Oregon using medical marijuana. KATU reports there are a total of 50 children under 18 and nine of those are under 14. There is no age limit to be a medical marijuana card holder in Oregon. Those under 18 just need their parents’ permission.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – University of Oregon campus police caught a man with a stolen bike, bolt cutters, marijuana and heroin but let the transient go with a citation for misdemeanor offenses. The jail in Eugene has no room for nonviolent offenders after closing 96 beds in June for budgetary reasons. It’s closing another 35 beds tomorrow.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – The Jackson County sheriff’s office says a reward for help in finding a jail fugitive has now climbed to $6,000. Bradley Monical was awaiting trial for bank robbery when he stood on another inmate’s shoulders on the night of Nov. 19, removed metal mesh from the roof covering and jumped into a nearby tree.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Mary Sheridan rarely leaves cash in her Portland food cart but she did on Thanksgiving night because of the holiday and a thief broke into the Honey Pot Bakery cart and stole the $1,800. But after media reports, donations poured in – nearly double the amount stolen.
