CORBETT, Ore. (AP) – A commercial truck driver told Oregon State Police he was stabbed when he parked at a viewpoint on Interstate 84 in the Columbia River Gorge east of Corbett. The man suffered minor injuries to his hand, arm and stomach in the assault early today. He was taken to Mount Hood Medical Center in Gresham for treatment.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Crater Lake National Park is preparing to make some repairs to historic Rim Drive – a 30-mile stretch of roadway at an elevation of more than 7,000 feet on the caldera of a dormant volcano. Park officials tell the Mail Tribune it’s not easy building a solid road base on the volcanic rock. It took 10 years to build Rim Drive, which was completed in 1941.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Astoria police arrested a teenager who confessed on Facebook that he had been driving drunk on New Year’s Eve and hit someone’s car. Police say officers were investigating a hit and run involving a sideswiped car when two Facebook friends of Jacob Cox-Brown contacted authorities. The 18-year-old was not charged with drunken driving because the Facebook post is not sufficient evidence that he was drunk.

CLEVELAND (AP) – The Cleveland Browns are set to interview Oregon coach Chip Kelly, who said he hopes to have the process “wrapped up quickly.” Kelly led the Ducks to a 35-17 win over Kansas State last night. Afterward, Kelly acknowledged he will meet with some NFL teams but today did not say which ones. He left open the possibility he would not make the jump to the pros.
