Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

Tony Woods scored 14 points, including the go-ahead dunk in the final minutes, ,and Oregon held on to defeat Arizona State 68-65 last night in Eugene.  Oregon remains undefeated in Pac-12 play with three wins.

In Corvallis, Oregon State is still looking for its first conference win.  The Beavers fell to Arizona 80-70 Saturday evening.  Oregon State didn’t give much trouble to the Wildcats, the Beavers trailed by as much as 17 in the second half.

Sam Johnson had five steals and 14 points and the Siuslaw Vikings held off the Douglas Trojans in Winston, 59-50 Friday night for their first Far West League win.  Jake Thompson had 17 points, Ryan Smith contributed 13.  In other Far West games, North Bend remains undefeated, but just barely… the Bulldogs slipped past Brookings 48 – 45; South Umpqua edged Sutherlin 60-55.

In the 2A ranks, Reedsport fell to Myrtle Point 64 – 36 and in the Mountain West League, Siletz Valley edged Mapleton 48 – 44.

On the girls court, Douglas went on a 13-0 run in the 2nd quarter and never looked back on the way to a 52 – 32 Far West win over the Siuslaw Vikings.  Sutherlin ran over, around and away from South Umpqua 73 – 27; Brookings thumped North Bend 62 – 37.

Mapleton beat Siletz Valley 35 – 24; Myrtle Point downed Reedsport 47-34.

On the mats… Ryan Connor continued his dominance at 285 pounds, claiming the individual title at that weight in Waldport Saturday afternoon.  Seven additional Vikings brought home medals in their weight classes… Tyler Coolidge, Alex Snow and Turner Wyckoff in second place; Isaiah Burkhalter and Hayden Miles: third; and Travis Dahlberg and Cameron Mathew finished fourth.
