Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A defense attorney for an Oregon terrorism suspect has used her cross-examination of an FBI agent to raise the idea that Mohamed Mohamud was a naive, inexperienced teenager manipulated into taking part in a plot to detonate a bomb. The agent was cross-examined yesterday by defense attorney Lisa Hay during the third day of testimony in Mohamud’s trial. He acknowledged that Mohamud had trouble with relatively simple tasks, such as renting a storage shed and buying items to be used in bomb-making. The device was to be set off at a Portland Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in 2010.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – More survivors of an Oregon bus crash that killed nine passengers have joined a lawsuit filed in Tacoma, Wash., by two teenage victims. The amended complaint filed yesterday by attorney Charles Herrmann adds the president of Mi Joo Tour & Travel and the driver as defendants. The suit says they engaged in willful misconduct. The tour company based in British Columbia also faces a lawsuit filed by a Canadian couple alleging the bus was defective. Both suits seek unspecified damages.

COOS BAY, Ore. (AP) – After nearly two weeks, searchers in Coos Bay are stumped as they search for a 34-year-old woman who vanished without her mental health medications. The World in Coos Bay reports that searchers, both volunteer and professional, haven’t turned up anything pointing them to Holly Berry. She disappeared after leaving her apartment Jan. 3. Her family says it’s unlikely she committed suicide or ran off. Police say they’ve found no evidence of foul play.

HERMISTON, Ore. (AP) – The boiler that supplied heat for a wing of a Hermiston elementary school has failed. So students are studying with a little more clothing in rooms warmed by electric space heaters. An 8-year-old third-grader at Rocky Heights Elementary, Peyton Herman, told the East Oregonian the students are studying with their jackets and gloves on. The boiler developed a crack at the beginning of the year. A $60,000 replacement will take three to four weeks to arrive.
