PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police are looking for a 29-year-old Portland woman who has been missing since Saturday evening. Emily Elizabeth Attmore told her mother she was going to a friend’s house in Stevenson, Wash. Attmore’s vehicle was found yesterday afternoon in Portland. Her mother told detectives it’s unusual for her to be out of touch and she could be medically endangered.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Marion County sheriff’s office says a 20-year-old man put his grandmother’s dog in a hot oven because it nipped him. The 9-pound Chihuahua mix named Kudo suffered burns on its legs Friday from the rack in the oven that had been heated to 350 degrees. The dog is being treated by a veterinarian and is expected to recover. Kevin Parrish was charged with aggravated abuse charge after his father called deputies. He lives with his grandmother at Lyons and was supposed to be caring for her pet while she was away.

FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – A Hillsboro police officer is charged with attempted aggravated murder in a shooting at his Forest Grove home that wounded a Washington County sheriff’s deputy who had responded to a report of domestic violence. Sheriff’s Sgt. David Thompson told KOIN the deputy was treated at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center and released. His name has not been released. The Hillsboro officer is identified as Timothy Cannon, a 13-year veteran of the patrol division.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Passenger Rail Leadership Council is considering routes for high-speed rail travel in Oregon. The Register-Guard reports that there are four alternatives the 21-member group is looking at for the future route of passenger rail in the Willamette Valley. The group includes five city mayors, six legislators and transit officials from the state, Portland and Lane County.
