Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon attorney general’s office is investigating a complaint against a Gresham bakery that refused to make a cake for a gay wedding. Laurel Bowman of Portland says she wanted to order a cake last month from the Sweet Cakes bakery but when the owner learned it was for a same-sex marriage he declined and called the couple “abominations unto the Lord.” The couple filed a consumer complaint under the law that prohibits a business from denying equal accommodations to customers based on factors that include sexual orientation.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Some Portland students are organizing a boycott of the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills test to take a stand against standardized testing. The Portland Public Schools student union and a group called Portland Student Union say the yearly OAKS test is a waste of resources and an inaccurate measurement of student achievement and teacher effectiveness. The Oregonian reports the groups are urging classmates to boycott the tests to send a message to administrators and lawmakers.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Thousands of hunters of deer and elk in Oregon are facing fines for failing to report their hunting results under a mandatory program passed by the Oregon Legislature. The Medford Mail-Tribune reports that the hunters who failed to make Thursday’s reporting deadline for 2012 hunting results face $25 fines.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – The Vancouver woman who burned her face with drain cleaner and claimed to have been attacked is writing a book about the hoax called “Facing the Truth.” The Columbian reports Bethany Storro wrote the book with Portland-area co-author Mona Kruger. Storro attracted national attention in 2010 when she said a stranger threw a cup of acid in her face. She accepted donations from sympathetic people before she admitted to detectives she had made up the story.
