PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An 11-year-old boy who attempted a carjacking last December in Portland has pleaded guilty to a robbery charge in juvenile court and was sentenced to probation for the rest of the year. Court officials tell KATU the boy also pleaded guilty to harassment. Police say the boy and a 7-year-old accomplice used his dad’s .22-caliber Derringer on Dec. 8 to threaten a woman in a church parking lot. She refused to give up her truck and wallet, drove away and called police.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland computer technology specialist is jailed facing charges that he drugged and sexually assaulted four women he met at parties. The Oregonian reports 43-year-old Marlin Brandt Pohlman was arrested yesterday at the Portland airport as he returned from a trip to Thailand.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Three men are held in the Multnomah County Jail in what police are calling a “very violent” death in Portland. The Oregon Medical Examiner said 25-year-old Charles Anthony Weber died of blunt force trauma to the head. His body was found Saturday at his home. KATU reports police arrested Hussein Ali Haidar, Omar Ibrahim and Mahmoud Moustafa.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Census Bureau figures show Oregon’s population is mostly growing in the Portland area and declining in rural eastern Oregon. Annual estimates put the population of the Portland metro area at 2,290,000 in July 2012. That’s in a statewide population of 3,899,000. The largest population gains were in Washington, Multnomah, Deschutes, Wasco and Clackamas counties. The biggest population loses were Curry, Grant, Lake, Harney and Wallowa counties.
