SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) – Forward Adam Jahn scored in the second minute of second-half stoppage time to pull the San Jose Earthquakes into a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Alex Morgan and Marian Dougherty each scored a goal to lead the Portland Thorns to a 2-1 victory over the Seattle Reign yesterday. The Thorns got the first win in franchise history and drew a National Women’s Soccer League record 16,479 to Jeld-Wen Field for their home opener. Portland dominated throughout, outshooting Seattle 12-5.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Maxim Lapierre scored in the shootout, Cory Schneider made 33 saves through overtime and the Vancouver Canucks clinched a playoff berth with a 2-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
