HOOD RIVER, Ore. (AP) – Two women planning their marriage say they were denied a wedding cake by a Hood River baker because they are lesbians. Erin Hanson and Katie Pugh told KATU when they went for a tasting at Fleur Cakes, owner Pam Regentin refused service because of the same-sex wedding. Regentin said despite anti-discrimination law, she believes she has “the liberty to live by my principles.” In February a bakery in Gresham also turned away a same-sex couple. The state Bureau of Labor and Industries is still investigating.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland employee is suing the city, claiming she was sickened by a co-worker’s scented fragrance. The lawsuit from maintenance worker Julie Reynolds seeks $50,000 in damages. She says she has a condition that can be triggered by the smell of perfume or hand lotion. A lawyer for the city told KGW it would not comment on the lawsuit.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon National Guard plans to fly drones over the Eastern Oregon Airport in Pendleton and nearby wheat fields once a week to train for aerial surveillance in combat. The guard demonstrated one of its four drones yesterday and said it was the first flight of an unmanned military aircraft through civilian airspace.

LINCOLN CITY, Ore. (AP) — A Seattle man trying to dribble a soccer ball 10,000 miles to Brazil in time for the 2014 World Cup has been struck and killed by a pickup truck in Lincoln City. Police say 42-year-old Richard Swanson was hit yesterday morning while walking south along U.S. 101 near the city limits. The driver has not been charged.
