Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A bill that would give Oregon distillers more opportunities to market and sell their spirits earned final approval from the state Senate and is headed for the governor’s desk. The measure is part of a recent push by the Legislature to boost the craft distilling industry, in hopes it can copy the successes of Oregon’s microbrew and wine industries.

HONOLULU (AP) – An Oregon tourist who vanished on Oahu has been found dead. The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office has identified the body of a woman found along the Waianae coastline on Monday as Ivanice “Ivy” Harris of Portland. Hawaii NewsNow reports that the medical examiner says the cause and manner of death are pending further investigation. Police said last weekend that Harris was last seen Thursday talking to a man outside a bar in Waikiki.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The Port of Portland wants authority to kill deer, coyotes or other animals seen as a risk to pilots at the Hillsboro Airport, the same authority it has at Portland International Airport. The Oregonian reports the proposed ordinance would amend the city’s code to allow firing a weapon to scare away or kill animals. The port says it would take non-lethal action whenever possible. The council could adopt it next month.

IRRIGON, Ore. (AP) – Morrow County authorities have accused a 64-year-old Irrigon woman of neglecting a bed sore that led to her mother’s death. Prosecutors say Ida Anna Powers was indicted on a manslaughter charge in the death of Anna Lyons, who developed the bed sore in the fall. The East Oregonian reports that Powers was caring for her mother, who died at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland on Oct. 6.
