All State Baseball Honors

Siuslaw’s Ryan Smith and Jake Thompson picked up dual honors this week… they were named co-players of the year in the Far West League… they were also named to the first-team all-state 4A baseball squad… Thompson as a pitcher; Smith as an infielder.  Josh Iabichello was named to the 1^st team Far West as an infielder and received Honorable Mention at the all-state level.

Far West League

Other all- league honors went to Joseph Dotson as a 1^st team utility player; Sam Johnson and Brad Snow were named 2^nd team and John Dodson, Kenneth Thrall and Billy Jones received honorable mention.

The coach of the Far West League champion Siuslaw baseball team, Jim Dietz, was named coach of the year.

Softball All League

Two Viking softball players earned all-Far West 1^st team honors as well… Ashlee Cole as a catcher and Lona Dengler as a utility player.  Lacey DeSantis earned 2^nd team honors in the outfield; Sadie Wells earned Honorable Mention as a utility player.
