Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police in Medford say a mental health caseworker became an unwitting getaway driver when a new client tucked a lunchtime bank robbery into his errands. Lt. Mike Budreau says the man asked his new caseworker to help him move from one motel to another on Tuesday – and make a couple of extra stops, one of them at a Chase Bank. Inside the man demanded money and a bank employee emptied a till of cash and the man walked out – to his waiting ride. The Oregonian reports witnesses got the license number and police made the arrest shortly after the client was dropped off at his new motel. Nicholas York is jailed on $1 million bail.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Court of Appeals has denied an appeal from a faith-healing couple convicted of negligent homicide in the 2008 death of their 16-year-old son at Oregon City. Jeffrey and Marci Beagley argued they had no legal duty to provide medical care for their child and that the judge who handled their case improperly allowed jurors to hear prejudicial testimony.

ALOHA, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County sheriff’s office says a woman who had been drinking fired a gun inside her home last night and the bullets hit two neighboring houses in Aloha. No one was injured. Alisha Mannis is jailed on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering another person.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – Matt Boyd pitched a four-hitter and struck out 11 and Oregon State made a fourth-inning sacrifice fly stand for a 1-0 victory over Indiana in the College World Series last night. The Beavers now face Mississippi State tomorrow to beat the Bulldogs twice to reach next week’s finals.
