PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Hood River County sheriff’s office says a member of the Polish military who set out to climb Mount Hood is missing on the mountain. KATU-TV reports that deputies say the 32-year-old told his roommate about his plan and set out Sunday morning. A search was launched yesterday after Sebastian Kinasiewics was reported missing. The sheriff’s office says he was in Oregon for training.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The University of Oregon is giving Duck football fans a little more room to cushion their seat at Autzen Stadium. It issued limits on seat cushions last week that were a little bigger than initially proposed. The Register-Guard reports it was unable to find any cushion in Eugene-Springfield sporting goods stores that met the initial limits. The school says it increased cushion dimensions due to some fan feedback.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – A Umatilla County sheriff’s crew using sonar have found the body of 54-year-old Matt Richter who apparently drowned in McKay Reservoir near Pendleton. KEPR reports a witness saw the Pendleton man put his boat in the water Sunday to go fishing then heard the engine rev up. The boat was found spinning in circles with no one inside.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a person was stabbed in a fight on a Max train in Portland last night near the Zoo Station. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to recover. Officers took a suspect into custody for investigation with Transit Police.
