Number 18 Oregon Wins in Home Opener
Joseph Young scored 28 of his career high 36 points in the second half to help number 18 Oregon rout Western Carolina 107-83 last night in Eugene.
Young, a transfer junior guard from Houston, made all seven of his shots in the second half and only missed three of his 12 attempts in the game. He was also 15-of-16 from the free throw line.

In Corvallis, Roberto Nelson scored 24 points and tied a career high with seven assists as Oregon State beat Portland 79-73. Angus Brandt added 13 points and ten rebounds and Devon Collier had 11 points and 11 rebounds in his return from a three-game suspension for violating team rules.
