Siuslaw Softball Fundraiser
Members of the Viking softball squad at Siuslaw High School are offering a unique opportunity to support two worthy causes at one time. For the third year in a row they’re selling cases of citrus fruit as a Holiday Season fundraiser.
Last year they gave buyers the option of having their Sunkist oranges and Rio Star grapefruit delivered directly to Florence Food Share. 21 people took them up on the offer, increasing the team’s sales at the same time they gave a boost to the community’s emergency food pantry.
Softball coach Sean O’Mara says their goal this year is to increase that to at least 40 cases for Food Share… in addition to direct community sales.
Each case contains either 30 oranges or 18 grapefruit and they cost $25 each. The deadline to order is Monday with delivery December 14th.
