The victim of the Saturday night accident has been identified as Sara-Tessa Lytle. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — An off-duty Washington County sheriff’s deputy and a passer-by pulled two unconscious men from a car that caught fire after a Saturday night crash near Gaston. The sheriff’s office says the deputy, Cpl. Cheryl Crecelius, was in the area moments after the crash. She quickly pulled one man to safety but the other man’s legs were pinned. KOIN reports another driver stopped and he and the deputy pulled the second man from the wreck just before it burst into flames.

ASHLAND, Ore. (AP) — It’s a sure sign of spring. The Ashland Daily Tidings reports studded snow tires must be off vehicles by midnight tonight. State law allows motorists to use studded tires from Nov. 1 through March 31. The Oregon Department of Transportation says driving with studded tires after today could result in a $190 fine.
