3rd AP Oregon News Minute

Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Contractors are busy repairing sidewalks in Portland’s Irvington neighborhood in response to hundreds of complaints, even though some residents say the sidewalks weren’t that bad. KGW reports it made a public records request and found out that most complaints were made by one man – 300 in April alone. The city forces homeowners to pay for the repairs.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Corvallis officials are considering making a $4 million investment in a parking garage in partnership with developers planning a seven-story riverfront hotel. The Corvallis Gazette-Times reports the hotel would manage the garage and make lease payments to the city that are expected to pay off construction bonds.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Gresham police have identified a man stabbed to death in an apartment. They say a woman has been arrested. Police say Stephen Delarose of California was found with fatal stab wounds. Detectives arrested Latoya Gilbert for investigation of murder.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The ex-husband of Oregon Senate candidate Monica Wehby called police to accuse her of harassing him as they were going through a divorce in 2007. A police report made public yesterday shows Jim Grant called police during an altercation in the couple’s Portland home. The report comes days after another report surfaced showing Wehby’s former boyfriend called police last year reporting that she was stalking him. Wehby’s campaign manager could not be reached.
