JUNCTION CITY, Ore. (AP) – Police in Junction City say a 26-year-old woman is reported in critical condition with a gunshot wound and a man has been taken in for questioning. Police Chief Mark Chase tells KVAL-TV that the man is the woman’s fiance. Police checked the home yesterday after getting a call from someone concerned about the woman’s well-being.

SHERWOOD, Ore. (AP) – Police in Sherwood chased six runaway sheep on foot and in patrol cars after the animals escaped from the back of a trailer. The Oregonian reports that police say the sheep were first spotted yesterday near a Safeway store. Off they went – to an ice arena, back to Safeway, across a highway and through a shopping center. Officers managed to round them up within a half hour and loaded them back into the trailer.
