Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Robinson Cano had his first four-RBI game for Seattle as the wild card-contending Mariners jumped out to a big early lead on the way to a 10-2 victory over the Texas Rangers last night. Rookie left-hander Roenis Elias (10-12) allowed a run in five innings to become the fourth Seattle starter with at least 10 wins.

SEATTLE (AP) – Marshawn Lynch rushed for 110 and two touchdowns, Russell Wilson threw a pair of touchdown passes and the Seattle Seahawks started defense of their Super Bowl title with a 36-16 win over the Green Bay Packers last night. Wilson made sure everyone knew Percy Harvin was healthy finding the speedy receiver seven times.

RENO, Nev. (AP) – Nevada’s seniors set out to spread a unified message to younger teammates in a shortened week leading up to tonight’s matchup with Washington State: Don’t fear the big boys. Maybe easier said than done given the scary numbers Washington State quarterback Connor Halliday and his fleet of speedy receivers put up week in and week out. Halliday was 40-of-56 for 532 yards and five touchdowns in last week’s 41-38 season-opening loss to Rutgers in Seattle.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Oregon’s Byron Marshall is picking up where De’Anthony Thomas left off. The speedy running back showed a new dimension in the No. 3 Ducks’ opener, leading the team with eight catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Marshall, and the rest of the Ducks’ offense, will face a considerable challenge tomorrow when Oregon hosts No. 7 Michigan State.
