PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Damian Lillard scored 24 points, including a tiebreaking 3-pointer with 1:14 left, and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied for a 102-93 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans last night. LaMarcus Aldridge, back after missing one game with an illness, had 22 points and nine rebounds to help the Blazers win their fifth straight.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Kevin Pangos made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points as No. 13 Gonzaga shut down No. 22 SMU 72-56 last night. Domantas Sabonis added 13 points for Gonzaga (2-0) whose defense especially stymied the Mustangs in the second half. Gonzaga, which scored 104 points in its season opening win over Sacramento State, shot a modest 45 percent against SMU.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Joseph Young shook off a sluggish first half to score 22 points and Jalil Abdul-Bassit added 17 as Oregon pulled away for an 83-66 victory over Detroit last night. Young, who finished just 1-for-12 from 3-point range, went for 18 points in the second half. Juwan Howard Jr. led Detroit with 16 points.

CHENEY, Wash. (AP) – Tyler Harvey led four scorers in double figures as Eastern Washington ran away from Utah Valley, posting a 75-50 win. Eastern Washington raced off to a 22-7 lead midway through the first half and led 38-25 at intermission. Harvey’s 3-pointer with 11:40 left made it a 21-point lead for the Eagles, 55-34. Eastern Washington (2-0) shot 54.5 percent from the field, hitting 30 of 55 field goal attempts, and was 11 of 26 from long range.
