Mike Riley announces he’s leaving Oregon State

The search for a new head football coach at Oregon State will likely begin immediately. Mike Riley announced this morning that he was accepting the head coaching position at Nebraska.

The OSU Athletic Department confirmed that Riley had an emotional meeting with players this morning to tell them of his decision.

The Corvallis native spent 14 seasons at the helm of the Beavers, accumulating 93 wins; the most by any coach at OSU. He also accumulated a 6-2 bowl record.

Oregon State is coming off a disappointing 5-7 season.
