PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Marion County judge has asked his clerks to refer couples seeking same-sex marriages to other county judges. Judge Vance Day, a former chairman of the Oregon Republican Party, is now facing an ethics investigation as a result of that decision.

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) – A 39-year-old Christmas Valley man was found dead in a vehicle early yesterday, and Crook County authorities say a 25-year-old man has been arrested. Undersheriff John Gautney said James Ross Scott was found with a gunshot wound. Michael Donovan of Prineville is being held without bail for investigation of murder and other charges.

TERREBONNE, Ore. (AP) – A 61-year-old rock climber from New Zealand has been injured after falling about 15 feet while climbing at Smith Rock State Park in central Oregon. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office says Peter Kettering suffered ankle injuries when he fell yesterday afternoon.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Burger fans are bracing for waits of more than three hours and extra traffic in Medford as the city prepares for Oregon’s first In-N-Out Burger to open. The Mail Tribune reports that city officials met to make a traffic plan to prevent backups on Highway 62 and possibly Interstate 5. In-N-Out owners still have not disclosed when the store will open, but unofficial reports point to a Wednesday grand opening.
