PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Oregon health officials have fined a Portland medical marijuana dispensary $2,500 for allowing a vendor to hand out samples in the parking lot on the opening day of recreational marijuana sales. The Oregonian reports that the fine against Cannacea is the first disciplinary action against a dispensary since recreational sales began Oct. 1.

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) – The city of Milwaukie, Oregon has approved a raise in minimum wage for city workers. KGW-TV reports that the City Council voted unanimously yesterday to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. The pay hike, proposed by Mayor Mark Gamba, only applies to city employees and contractors. The Portland City Council approved a similar measure in February.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – The husband of a Gresham woman charged with murder in their son’s death has been found dead. According to the Oregonian, police say he died at the scene from an apparent overdose of medication, and no foul play is suspected. The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office is awaiting toxicology reports to determine the man’s cause of death.

THE DALLES, Ore. (AP) – A woman is facing theft charges in connection to 4 cows that went missing from a farm in Wasco County. KOIN-TV reports that Elizabeth Ann Turner was arrested last week and has been charged with four counts of first-degree theft. A judge ordered her release from jail earlier this week pending a trial in the case. Prosecutors allege the theft was a result of a family dispute.
