PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police are looking for suspects in a Portland shooting that left one man dead outside a convenience store. The Oregonian reports witnesses had reported seeing a white SUV speeding past the scene moments after the shooting yesterday afternoon. Officers do not yet have a motive for the shooting or know if it was connected to another Portland shooting in a Walgreens parking lot hours earlier.
MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a fatal shooting in Medford. The Mail Tribune reports that Shane Zornes was arrested yesterday without incident near Spokane, Washington. Police also arrested Ruben Marmolejo of Spokane, whom they believe told Zornes to shoot Issac Deleon Sunday. Police have not yet determined a possible motive in the shooting.
ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) – An Oregon woman has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the heroin overdose death of another woman and her unborn child. The Daily Astorian reports that police say Lacey Saranpaa of Astoria and a man were in a motel room with Torae Shufelt, also of Astoria, when she overdosed. Shufelt was six months pregnant.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) – Kevin Durant scored 24 points, leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 106-90 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers last night, extending the league’s longest current win streak to six games. C.J. McCollum scored 24 points and Damian Lillard added 20 for the Trail Blazers, but Lillard was held scoreless on 0-for-9 shooting in the second half.
