Conservation groups have organized similar rallies in Portland and Eugene.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A judge will allow trade groups representing major energy companies to join the fight against a lawsuit filed by a group of youths seeking a court order to reduce emissions contributing to climate change. BEND, Ore. (AP) – Former Gov. John Kitzhaber’s fiancee Cylvia Hayes has traded in making politics for a job covering them as a journalist. The Bulletin reports that Hayes announced last week that she is covering a case against protesters who blocked oil trains in Washington for Issue Magazine, based in Bend. She previously managed a blog and then wrote for Bend Level magazine.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say they have found the body of a man who went missing from an adult care facility. The Mail Tribune reports that the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office says that 38-year-old Daniel Allred was found dead in Grave Creek. An autopsy confirmed the body’s identity.
