SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A bill that would allow out-of-state investors to enter Oregon’s burgeoning pot industry has cleared its first major hurdle in the state Legislature. The measure would remove a two-year residency requirement on people applying for a marijuana license. Today the House votes on a bill that would remove state criminal liability for banks that do business with the pot industry.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon House has approved a controversial proposal that would make sweeping changes to Oregon’s energy policies. The bill would eliminate the use of coal power in Oregon by 2030 and double the state’s renewable energy standard by 2040. It now moves to the Senate.

KEIZER, Ore. (AP) – Keizer police are searching for a suspect in a fatal shooting at a Starbucks parking lot on Sunday night. Officers arrived to find a male victim who had been shot. The Salem man was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead. His name was not immediately released.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the person who fired shots into an Aloha home. The Oregonian reports that the home was damaged in the shooting early yesterday but no one was hurt. Investigators believe the house was targeted, but they haven’t identified any suspects.
